First Contact With Alpas Wellness
We’re happy to hear from you! Our friendly administrative team is here to help you from day one until your treatment is complete. We prioritize hearing stories and challenges over pushing treatment plans.
When you or a loved one makes that first call, we’ll discuss the patient’s specific disorder and history in order to determine the severity of their current state. For their safety and to ensure Alpas Wellness is a good fit, the patient must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or co-occurring disorders.
We will also discuss insurance plans and coverage. Alpas Wellness operates as an in-network treatment center for most major carriers. We will work with you to help you understand exactly what’s available to you according to your carrier.
If you or a loved one are struggling with a Dual Diagnosis or Substance Use Disorder, don’t wait until it’s too late. The first step is the most critical.
These disorders can often lead to damaged physical and mental health, compromised personal finances, and jeopardized or broken relationships. Take action today and choose the path to restoration, freedom, and healing.

Admissions
After we’ve determined that Alpas Wellness can help facilitate your recovery and insurance coverage has been arranged, you will be given an arrival date and time for check-in. We will offer guidance for notifying your family, friends, employers, or teachers.
Our modern facility was fashioned with Biophilic Design principles. With an abundance of light, plant life, and nature in every corner, our location is the perfect space for rest, reflection, and recovery.
Depending on the disorder being treated, the patient will be assigned to a unit specifically built, organized, and staffed to treat that disorder. Each unit has a shared lounge area, private and shared rooms, as well as a designated nurses station and medical exam space. There are always three to four nurses available per unit, with a maximum of eighteen patients per unit.
There is a physician on-site at Alpas Wellness at all times, and each floor staffs four therapists. Their offices are where private therapy and counseling sessions will be held, with separate common rooms for group sessions.

Evaluation
After the patient is admitted, they will undergo a diagnostic evaluation that covers everything from medical history, substance use, and mental health to daily routine and recovery goals. Lab work may also be necessary, depending on the results of the evaluation.
Based on this evaluation, a customized treatment plan will be developed to suit the patient’s needs and desires. This plan will encompass everything from detox and inpatient care to outpatient programs and aftercare plans.

If Detox Is Part of Your Treatment Plan
For those suffering from severe Substance Use Disorder, medication-assisted detox may be the first phase of your recovery. Here, the patient will receive IV and oral medications to ease the transition into sobriety.
Some medications will serve to accelerate the toxin release, while others will be to mitigate the symptoms of withdrawal and ensure patient comfort. The medical detox process is overseen by our in-house medical team.
Exclusive Access To Industry-Leading Resources and Opportunities
Progressive Practitioners and Research Participation
Alpas Wellness is privileged to partner with a renowned neurologist Dr. Anjan Chatterjee, M.D. He’s a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and Functional Neuroimaging at the University of Pennsylvania and the former Chair of Neurology at Pennsylvania Hospital.
The Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics (PCfN) is the first research center in the U.S. dedicated to studying the neuroscience of aesthetic experiences. Their mission is to understand the nature of aesthetics and why such experiences matter, with a particular focus on examining ways in which architecture has an impact on our well-being.
We are proud to partner with Dr. Chatterjee and PCfN in the design of our treatment facility with an approach that supports treatment, rehabilitation, and stress mitigation. Dr. Chatterjee and his lab have thoughtfully designed a refresh room dedicated to the Alpas staff and patients.
The space, a conduit for PCfN research, is fully adaptable and intuitive as a response to the feedback experienced. We look forward to the mutual benefit this partnership will provide for our patients and the future of neurology.
